The study “Green Steel as a Cornerstone of a Resilient Economy” examines the strategic importance of the steel industry for economic stability and climate neutrality. A shift in steel production abroad could result in annual losses in value added of up to 50 billion euros. The analysis emphasises that the development of green steel production at sites such as Duisburg, Bremen and Eisenhüttenstadt is essential – both to safeguard employment and to strengthen Germany’s economic resilience.
